Quick Sketch of a Young Woman 4

Quick sketch of a young woman done with conte crayon on a light brown paper

Size: 13″ x 19″
Date: circa 1979
Media: Conté crayon on yellow paper
Where: Fayence, France
Signature: “christine benson”
Currently: Family collection

A well-finished Sketch of a young woman who I think was the eldest daughter of one of Christine’s neighbors. It was done on an ochre paper base. As the drawing was found with a simple paper mat, I think it was used as a sample to be displayed when Christine set up her little “Portrait Rapide” stall as she participated in the street art events in her area.

While looking through pictures of her other drawings, I found what I think is another drawing of the same young woman on grey paper. This is not as finely finished as the drawing above and appears to be with a slightly different hair style and a different outfit.
