Fayence Approach

Watercolor painting of a French village with a clock tower in the distance

A view of Fayence from one of the approach roads. I love the added details of the two cats and the lady hanging her laundry out beside the road.

I think my mother used the roof lines from this painting in her poster for the Artistes of Fayence flyer she did for the art fest in 1977. If you compare the tower and roof lines in the upper right of the picture you can see a distinct similarity but she has simplified the foreground to make it more inviting.
