This large well-used rectangular tray was carved by Christine while she lived in Okinawa. It’s a little worse for wear as it has been in continuous use, following the family on our travels around the world.

It depicts peonies, a traditional subject for Japanese art. The lower right corner shows the Japanese characters for Ben and Son.
