Dancing Ledge is a well known beauty spot along the Purbeck Coast of Dorset about an hour away from our home in Bournemouth. This watercolor was done in the early sixties within just a few years of moving back to the area. It was entered into a number of local exhibitions and always got interesting comments due its mix of styles, one can clearly see the influence of the Japanese style painting my mother had learnt in that country. The look is further emphasized by her use of the Benson Hanko or chop stamp.
