SEILLANS

ARTISTS EXHIBIT

Seillans, a splendid little village which enjoys a remarkable setting and location, is home to many talented artists.

Painting enthusiasts will be happily inspired, and pleasantly surprised, by visiting the exhibition of paintings by Ms. Christine Benson and Ms. Marjorie Jackson-Pownall.

Both, of British origin, came to settle in this region. Mrs. Benson in Montauroux and Mrs. Jackson has lived in Seillans for many years.

Mrs. Benson was a painting instructor in Bournemouth. She specializes in portraits which she often paints on request.

The finish and resemblance of her works are striking. But she also creates paintings of our picturesque villages. The artist’s delicate brushwork gives life to her compositions and produces a form of beauty which adds to the pleasure of the eyes, a good sensitive statement.

Ms. Jackson paints for her pleasure, and chooses at random from the nature that surrounds her, or creates imaginative paintings, remarkable canvases in a figurative style very rich in colors.

These works, through their diversity and their personal character, prove once again that the sites of the Var hinterland always seduce painters with their shimmering colors and their countless subjects.
