Labeled Rue du Chateau, Fayence, this card depicts the upper reaches of the Rue du Chateau as it leads off the Grande Rue du Chateaux where Christine’s little flat/apartment was located. It is one of two cards of this view. Interestingly, only the Grande Rue du Chateaux could be traversed by suitably narrow vehicles and then in only one direction at a time, whereas this other road consists mainly of very wide large steps, suitable for pedestrians willing to climb its steep gradient. The hand-painted card that has survived appears to be slightly narrower than the plain and sepia versions, as it has been cropped on one side.

Below are three other variations of the same rendition.
