This a large well used rectangular tray was carved by my mother while she lived in Okinawa. It’s a little worse for wear as it been in continuous use as it followed us on our travels around the world.
It depicts Peonies, a traditional subject for Japanese art. The lower right corner is the Japanese characters for Ben and Son.
