The Wash-House or Le Lavoir II was painted in Bargemon, Var and appears to be a second take of this scene from village life. The first Le Lavoir watercolour is a bit more delicate and much lighter with the various colour washes. This rendition works to achieve a stronger more saturated appearance with a lot more action and details.
