Here are a few of the Sumi paintings Christine made while learning the technique in Yokohama, Japan. The one below looks like a very early practice painting when she was learning how the combination of a traditional Japanese brush, solid sumi ink, water and rice paper interact. I think it’s fascinating to see the quick progress.
