This is obviously a sketch of Sherlock Holmes, it’s from the 1965 series produced by the BBC. I think it’s from the one where he is played by Douglas Wilmer, 1964-1965.

My mother would often sketch interesting faces while we all watched the “telly”. This was particularly challenging as it was a small black and white set and any kind of home recording or freeze frame had yet to be imagined.
