SEILLANS
Artists and craftsmen exhibit at the convent: delicacy and more!
For several years, artists and craftsmen from Fayence and its surrounding area have been exhibiting in the hall of the former convent.
For two years now, the organization has been entrusted to the young Pascal Brunet. And this year, finally, the exhibition found a setting of choice. Indeed, the municipality recently undertook to renovate the interior of the building. This renovation notably made it possible to split the premises in two.
On the one hand, a floor was laid out on the upper level. On the other hand, the downstairs room thus created today forms a place for meetings of the arts, in this case, this encounter in 1982.
In fact, some twenty craftsmen and artists from the community offer visitors a view of part of their creations, stripped of all artifice, or on the contrary, immersed in research, mixing delicacy and skillful techniques. And all of this, enveloped in a cosy atmosphere, perfectly lit to the taste of all nuances.
Pluralism and intimacy
This ’82 version brings a pleasant revival. If a few comments were made last year, it seems that the writer made a point of ignoring a number of problems.
And, thanks to an intelligent layout, the summer rendezvous takes on another dimension.
However, Pascal Brunet and his guests only had very few hours to set everything up. But at the hour of the official inauguration, everything was ready.
As far as picture rails are concerned: no overlaps. We are almost amazed. This year, we can discover the panoply of crafts and art in panels, interspersed with niches formed by blown glass objects or painted and decorated silks.
Undeniably, the organization has asserted itself, to the benefit of increased clarity and delicacy.
Diversity helps, so we do not forget the intimacy resulting, as we have said, from the layout.
And if this exhibition also constitutes a point of sale (is that not normal?), it nevertheless remains a place where a simple visit will engender new pleasures, where the eye will not be assailed from all sides by an absurd entanglement.
The convent, open until September 12, (between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) is therefore one of the meccas of crafts and art in the community of Fayence. .
This new initiative deserves to attract popular attention, if only through a quick visit that will enrich the guest…
Exhibitors
On entering the convent, you will first see the paintings of Rex Alliscon, then the earthenware of Marc Fauveau, the always tender watercolours by Sylvie Vershoote, the wooden “peezeules” by Charlyne Lafosse, the stained glass windows and watercolours by Annie Riche. There will also be decorative silks by Cecilleddy, silkscreens by Sylviane Leibovitz, watercolors by Alain Abecassis and paintings by Christine Benson.
And, if you don’t remain blissfully seated on Alain Girelli’s trunk, you will continue by discovering the incredible “Conquest of space” born from the spellbinding feelings of Yvanoff.
Returning to the last aisle, it will finally be the silks of Sylvie Duriez, original and eventful; the paintings of Denardeau; Zittel’s blown glass objects; Dupard’s paintings; the voluptuous sculptures of the Callian born Francis Lanery, then the works of Camus before the pottery by Olivier Stumpff.
Decidedly, a vast overview of the possibilities offered in the community. An overview which, if it will never be complete, faithfully restores, in a pleasant setting, individual creativity transmitted this year in a very beautiful way.
