While working with the committee organizing the local big arts fair for Fayence and the surrounding region, my mother volunteered to create a poster for the event. Note that it includes both painters and potters. She also very diplomatically drew an obviously male painter even though many of the local artists were women, although the committee chairman was not. Also the same reason she would have signed in just “benson” with no first name. She continued to work with the local arts committees as much as possible, both for her own benefit and also her many fellow artist friends .
The poster is a slightly stylized rendition of the village of Fayence with it’s noticeable clock tower.
