This is a small compilation of some of the many sketches Christine did while working for the London Evening Standard in 1946. Many times there would be a play, movie or event where it was easier, or necessary, to have Christine make a sketch than try to take and reproduce a photograph.

Here is an example of Rita Hayworth who was appearing in “Gilda”, an American movie being reviewed in the paper. Many were simple scraperboard images, which reverse the illustration of black lines on white paper, such as this seagull.
